The AFMRD actively participates in the Family Medicine Advocacy Summit in Washington, D.C. each Spring. 

AFMRD will send a $1,900 stipend check to the scholars following the summit.

Eligibility Requirements:

Following the summit, all scholars are required to submit a PowerPoint presentation (template provided by AFMRD) recapping the scholars' experience and a W9. Stipend checks will not be sent until presentations are received.

Resident

  • Currently a family medicine resident in good standing
  • First-time attendee of the summit.
  • Availability to attend FMAS and related events
  • Online application will include:
    • Current curriculum vitae
    • Program director or current chair letter of recommendation outlining qualifications and commitment to time off
    • Document describing why applicant wishes to attend FMAS and any prior advocacy experience they may have (maximum 300 words)

AFMRD Member

  • Currently an AFMRD member
  • First-time attendee of the summit
  • Availability to attend FMAS and related events
  • Fill out online application and include:
    • Current curriculum vitae
    • Document describing why applicant wishes to attend FMAS and any prior advocacy experience they may have (maximum 300 words)

NIPDD Graduate

  • Graduate of NIPDD and a current AFMRD member
  • First-time attendee of the summit
  • Availability to attend FMAS and related events
  • Fill out online application and include:
    • Current curriculum vitae
    • Document describing why applicant wishes to attend FMAS and any prior advocacy experience they may have (maximum 300 words)
