What are your greatest professional interests?
My passion and pride for family medicine is something that I work to share and teach everday. I believe strongly in providing residents and students opportunities and experiences that will expand their clinical knowledge and encompass the breadth of experiences available through family medicine. I am passionate about community outreach and incorporating experiences that will help learners develop into future leaders and teachers. I am particularly interested in obstetrical care and procedural medicine.
What are your personal hobbies and interests?
The nerdy side of me loves curriculum and evaluation. I love to learn about innovative teaching and learning experiences. The fun side of me loves to feed friends and family; I am a hockey mom through and through as all three of my chidren play hockey. The quiet side of me reads voraciously and gardens as often as possible.
If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about graduate medical education, what would it be?
I would love to see the healthcare system financially support the growth of primary care. Primary care physicians are needed and necessary. My wand would improve our system to support future physicians in choosing the path they desire not the remuneration they need.
