Dr. Haynes is the program director for the University of Tennessee College of Medicine Family Medicine Residency, Chattanooga in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
He completed his residency at Eglin Family Medicine Residency and earned his medical degree from Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, MD
What are your greatest professional interests?
Improving patient care and education via optimizing clinic function, mentoring faculty, residents and students both professionally and personally, building faculty for the future, helping hospital systems understand Family Medicine, improving health through non-pharmacologic means.
What are your personal hobbies and interests?
My wife and children, reading the Bible , Christian thought leaders, historical biographies and war history, triathlon training, and Fantasy Football.
If you could wave a magic wand and change one thing about graduate medical education, what would it be?
Give all residency outpatient clinics the resources/personnel to improve access, adequately address social determinants and to remove unnecessary administrative burdens placed on physicians in training as well as provide a meaningful, accurate dashboard to healthcare teams to effect positive change.
