Scholarship Award Application

AFMRD scholarship providing family medicine residents and AFMRD members the opportunity to attend the Family Medicine Advocacy Summit May 19-21, 2024, in Washington, DC.

The deadline to submit is December 7, 2023. 

Eligibility Requirements:

Resident

  • Currently a family medicine resident in good standing
  • First-time attendee of the summit.
  • Availability to attend FMAS and related events
  • Online application will include:
    • Current curriculum vitae
    • Program director or current chair letter of recommendation outlining qualifications and commitment to time off
    • Document describing why the applicant wishes to attend FMAS and any prior advocacy experience they may have (maximum 300 words)
  • Following the summit:
    • Schedule a presentation for colleagues to share their advocacy knowledge
    • Submit to AFMRD an essay or presentation (i.e. PowerPoint or video presentation)
    • Submit Expense Reimbursement Form to AFMRD. Reimbursement checks will not be sent until essay or presentation is received by AFMRD staff.

 AFMRD Member

  • Currently an AFMRD member
  • First-time attendee of the summit
  • Availability to attend FMAS and related events
  • Fill out online application and include:
    • Current curriculum vitae
    • Document describing why the applicant wishes to attend FMAS and any prior advocacy experience they may have (maximum 300 words)
  • Following the summit:

 NIPDD Fellow

  • Currently a NIPDD fellow
  • First-time attendee of the summit

    • Document describing why the applicant wishes to attend FMAS and any prior advocacy experience they may have (maximum 300 words)
  • Following the summit:
    • Schedule a presentation for colleagues to share their advocacy knowledge
    • Submit to AFMRD an essay or presentation (i.e. PowerPoint presentation)
