Shannon Pittman Moore, MD

Dr. Pittman is a tenured, Professor and Chair in the department of family medicine. She received her undergraduate degree from Tougaloo College and earned her M.D. at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where she also completed her family medicine residency in 2005. She served as Chief Resident from 2004-2005 and was awarded the George Lally Bevill Memorial Fellowship in Family Medicine.

Dr. Pittman is a member of the American Academy of Family Medicine, the American Medical Association, the Society of Teachers for Family Medicine, and the Mississippi Academy of Family Medicine. Dr. Pittman completed a faculty development fellowship in Waco, TX in April 2006 and the National Institute for Program Directors Development fellowship in 2007. She is currently a participant in the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s Leadership Development Program. Dr. Pittman has also served as the medical director for University Physicians, Family Medicine since 2010. Dr. Pittman is a certified Physician Builder in Epic and enjoys designing training tip sheets and videos.

Dr. Pittman is passionate about learning and patient care. She is advocate for quality, being the recipient of the prestigious Q award. Dr. Pittman enjoys the academic exchange and thrives on creativity and innovation.
