Membership

Members of the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD) are given opportunities throughout the year to address issues of importance with all program directors. The Listserv, an electronic mailing list developed for the AFMRD membership, provides one forum for communication of these issues between members. Issues are also addressed at AFMRD's Annual Business Session, held each year in Kansas City, Missouri, during the Workshop for Directors of Family Medicine Residencies.

Various relationships formed between the AFMRD Board of Directors and other organizations offer the opportunity for discussion of relevant issues among varied interest groups.

Updates on AFMRD actions and activities are reported in Highlights, AFMRD's quarterly newsletter that members receive at no charge as part of their membership benefits. The membership year runs from January 1 through December 31. Dues are $350 for membership.

Past program directors, as well as graduates from the National Institute for Program Director Development (NIPDD) are eligible for associate membership in the AFMRD. Associate members have all rights and privileges of full members, with the exception that they are not eligible to vote or hold office. Associate membership dues are $175 per year.
