Become a Board Member

The Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors (AFMRD) is seeking individuals interested in standing for nomination to the AFMRD Board of Directors. The election of Board members will be conducted during the AFMRD annual meeting, held in conjunction with the Workshop for Directors of Family Medicine Residencies (PDW), on Monday, June 7, 2010.

At this year’s meeting, the membership will elect:

• President Elect: one member to serve a one-year term as President-Elect, followed by a one-year term as President and a one-year term as Immediate Past President,
• Member-at-Large: three members to a serve two-year term as Member-at-Large Directors on the Board.

Individuals interested in nomination should submit the following, no later than March 1, 2010.

1. Letter of interest, to include (Microsoft Word format):

• Academic Credentials – list of college degree, medical school, residency and fellowships.
• Leadership Credentials – outline of management and leadership roles (100 word limit).
• Board Experience – list of previous Board positions held or service to a board of directors (50 word limit).

2. Statement of purpose explaining your reasoning for standing for nomination to the Board and your vision for the AFMRD if you are elected to the position(200 word limit in Microsoft Word format).

4. Photo (jpg format)

The above information should be submitted electronically to Katy Robb, Education Services and Special Projects Manager, at krobb@aafp.org no later than Monday, March 1, 2010. Late submissions cannot be accepted.

Each candidate’s letter of interest, statement of purpose, CV and photo will be posted on the AFMRD members’-only website at www.afmrd.org following approval of the slate of candidates by the AFMRD Board in March 2010. Once the information is posted, the membership will be notified to review the candidates’ information.
