Advocacy for Program Directors
AFMRD provides representation of program directors' concerns to other organizations including the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP) and the Council of Academic Family Medicine (CAFM). which includes the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine (STFM), Association of Departments of Family Medicine (ADFM), North American Primary Care Research Group (NAPCRG).
American Board of Family Medicine
The ABFM Board engages regularly in communication with ABFM. The ABFM has provided answers to FAQs from program directors on the AFMRD website.
AFMRD collaborates with the AAFP and Academic Family Medicine organizations to ensure that the AFMRD membership is kept up-to-date on legislative issues directly impacting family medicine graduate medical education.
Liaison activities with other organized family medicine and medical organizations are established to ensure representation of program directors' concerns with these entities are continued.
Review Committee for Family Medicine
AFMRD provides advocacy for program directors regarding proposed changes in training requirements.
AFMRD works with AAFP Student Interest and other primary care organizations to ensure that student interest continues to be addressed as a priority to all organized family medicine and that effective strategies are developed for promoting student interest.
