All AFMRD members have access to the following member services.
The AFMRD public website provides current information on important issues, upcoming events, and links to other family medicine organizations.
The PD Toolbox provides program directors with useful tools and resources.
The member directory provides profile information on fellow program directors, including scope of practice and areas of interest.
The AFMRD email discussion forum provides members the opportunity to discuss current issues related to residency programs.
Discounts on professional development offerings throughout the year.
Salary survey data is collected periodically from program directors across the nation. Survey results provide a resource for directors as they negotiate salaries for themselves and fellow faculty members.
Redi-Reference is a handheld computer-based information resource available to AFMRD members at no cost for a one-year trial period.
AFMRD sponsors or collaborates with other organizations to present several awards, including the Nikitas J. Zervanos Outstanding Program Director Award, Family Medicine Resident Award for Scholarship, Program Director Recognition Award, and others.
In addition, AFMRD Program Director Members are eligible to hold office on the Board of Directors and may vote in elections and on issues of national importance during the annual business session.
