Colleen M. Conry, MD
Colleen Conry, MD, a Colorado native, attended Colorado State University and the University of Colorado Medical School. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Colorado, followed by a one year fourth year chief residency. Dr. Conry joined the faculty of the Department of Family Medicine in 1988. She has served as the residency director of the Department’s original Family Medicine residency program and helped start a rural training track in a community health center. She began the University of Colorado Hospital Family Medicine residency, serving as its residency director for three years. She also served as the interim residency director for the Rose Family Medicine residency. She served as the Director of Graduate Medical Education for the Department of Family Medicine for five years. Dr. Conry is currently the Vice-Chair of the DFM and provides oversight for all of the department’s clinical activities.
On a national level, Dr. Conry was a RAP consultant for 10 years and is currently a member of the ACGME Family Medicine Residency Review Committee. She has special expertise in the financial aspects of residency programs. She served on the AAFP Commission on Education and was its chair in 2005. She is currently on the AAFP Commission on Quality and a member of the NCQA Physician Programs committee.
Dr. Conry is passionate about the patient-centered medical home and is working within her academic system to create an integrated medical group. She is the Associate Medical Director for University Physicians, Inc. and works closely with the University of Colorado Hospital on activities such as implementation of an electronic medical record, quality activities, and NCQA Patient Centered Medical Home certification.
